About Rotary
A brief history of our club
A Rotary club has been in existence in Coalville since 1933, when a charter was granted by Rotary International. Club members have been giving help to needy parts of the local community ever since, as well as contributing to many international good causes. In the process, we have enjoyed making new friends in the area, and throughout the world.

Our District
Our club is part of a large family of clubs which are organised in to geographical districts. This year our district (1070), is celebrating its centenary year.

Rotary in Great Britain and Ireland
Rotary in Great Britain and Ireland has 40,000 members in over 1,500 clubs who are volunteering their time and talents to tackle challenges at home and abroad. We have a unique position of being rooted within our own communities, but with a global outlook.

Rotary International
Rotary is a global network of 1.4 million neighbours, friends, leaders, and problem-solvers who see a world where people unite and take action to create lasting change – across the globe, in our communities, and in ourselves.
Solving real problems takes real commitment and vision. For more than 110 years, Rotary's people of action have used their passion, energy, and intelligence to take action on sustainable projects. From literacy and peace to water and health, we are always working to better our world, and we stay committed to the end.
